Before leaving Bali for my posgraduate study in Aussie, a teacher in cross culture class always said there would be a cultural shock living in other countries.
But at that time, I was very exciting as it's my dream since my childhood to go abroad and experience western culture. Some friends even said that coming back home has been a real cultural shock for them. For me everything's going alright. Neither of them was shocking. I still find myself comparing these two cultures and finding that every culture has its own uniqueness. The only thing that I should readjust has been the weather from dry and mostly cold Melbourne to the humid, temperate and tropical Bali.
I missed Bali, my beloved and family while living in Melbourne. There was a time when I got so homesick. Now, I miss Melbourne. I miss my friends, my school and the trips we used to make. Now I can see that it's natural not to realise what you have until it's gone.
I am coming back home to the place where I belong to. I must have the courage to cope with everything. I wish I could contribute something to my country and widening the perspectives of my people. To be honest, I don't know what the future will bring. But I'm going to try the best thing I can do.
Congratulations....
