Lari pagi, gerakan badan!
Lari pagi melawan hembusan angin yang cukup kencang itu.... that was really something. Memang terkesan membosankan, tetapi itulah kewajiban!

Indonesian main OHS Act

Just wanna put this to answer some of my friends' queries regarding the key provisions of the Indonesian main Occupational Health and Safety Act (Act No. 1 of 1970), of which an employer and an employee in Indonesia should be aware.

There are 11 Chapters and 18 Articles in the Act. Because practical provisions are supposed to be detailed in the related regulations, it only states the essential concepts. In general, the main key provisions in the Chapters are: Safety Conditions, Supervision, Guidance, Safety and Health Committee, Accident and Obligations of Manager.

An approach to Multiple Chemical Sensitivity

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is a term used to describe people with psychosomatic symptoms due to environmental factors. It is also called environmental illness. They are generally seeking for benefits from their employer, and may be related to workers' compensation.  Some review however state that MCS is not a valid diagnosis and there is no clear evidence regarding this disease.

Is my cancer due to work?

Sometimes, we face patients or workers who state they have cancer related to their occupation. What is the best approach to solve this situation?

My approach to a person who states they have cancer related to their occupation is firstly to ensure the diagnosis, type of cancer including the stage if possible. If the diagnosis is clear, then I would thoroughly explore the patient history including timeline since the person realised the disease.

Mengenal varises dan penanganannya

Dok saya takut kena varises, bisa dijelaskan bagaimana gejalanya dok?
Varises tungkai bawah

Preventing Varicose Veins

Varicose veins are defined as distended veins, often bent and twisted in the subcutaneous tissues. Another term used is varices, which generally refers to varicose veins on the legs, even though they can occur elsewhere. This entry presents snapshot of the varicose veins on the legs, their problems and management.

Varicose veins are medically perceived unimportant and they rarely need treatment. It may be because they affect almost one third of adults and only few cases can cause serious harm. However, they can cause cosmetic problems and lead to reduced self confidence, as legs can influence someone's sex appeal. The risk of varices increases with age and during pregnancy. Some articles stated that family histories may play a role in varicose veins.

Electromagnetic Fields and Health

News about the effects of electromagnetic fields (EMF) on health has spread for years through media, from the effect of mobile phone on human health to the issues related to living under power lines. It has been scientifically proven that EMFs are associated to the increased risk of some cancers. State University of New York researchers conclude that EMFs exposures are responsible for 30% of all childhood cancers. In 1990, the US Environmental Protection Agency classified EMFs as a class B carcinogen (equal to class 2A in IARC of WHO classification, together with formaldehyde and DDT), which is a probable human carcinogen, indicating that there are sufficient evidences in animal experimental but limited findings on human carcinogenicity.

What appliances radiate EMFs?
