Three aircraft crashes in a week

It's unbelieveable that there were three crashes in less than a week.
On August 20, Spainair (aircraft type MD-82, with registration EC-HFP) flight number JK 5022, from Madrid to Las Palmas de Gran Canarias was involved in an incident at Madrid. There were 154 people reported dead on the accident that occurred during take off. It doesn't have to be a developing country to be involved in a jet crash, it can happen to every country.
The second crashes occurred on Sunday (August 24). A small plane, Cessna Caravan 208, crashed in a field crops in eastern Guatemala. It's reported 10 people were killed in this accident.  On the same day, in Kyrgyzstan, at least 71 passengers were reported dead. A Boeing 737 was headed to Iran and similar to Spainair, it crashed shortly after taking off near Bishkek's Manas International Airport.

So far, technical problems were claimed to be the main causes of the accidents but we wait for the official reports from the investigations, whether they involved organisational and or human factors.

I still remember what Dr David Newman (my course convenor during the ACCAM course) said that if we carefully look at aircraft accidents, most of them involved the number of "8". So, does it mean that because this month is August or "08" and the year is 2008 and also "08" these consecutive accidents happened. That's just a myth and probably a coincident though. Hopefully, there will be no more accident and everyone involved in aviation safety can learn from what have occurred.

  1. Yes it doesn't have to be a developing country to be involved in a plane crash. Anything can happen anywhere. So why should only Indonesia get the ban of flying across Europe. I think that the ban should be removed or at least reconsidered judging be the fact that plane crashes can happen anywhere. Bro is your mobile number still the same? If not then send it to me through email. Thanks.

  2. » ghozan,
I think not only has been Indonesia banned by the EU, some other countries have been also banned... The banning is not related to the possibility above, rather it's more related to whether or not a country meets the internaional standards in civil aviation

  3. Ayayy...Classic Problem Huh..
We care so many HIV cases, but don't care with High Risk Flight
Better Safety Control is maybe the best solution.
About EU banning...maybe we have to thinks collateraly
The banning is stumbling stone, but we can make it as a pushing stone to start better.
