Adjusting in Melbourne

This is my first week in Melbourne. Everything seems to be alright though I've done it lonely. I've tried the public transportations. It's a great and comfortable system (some people said that it's probably one of the best systems in the world??). The city is well designed and looks so tidy...

These days, the weather is quiet hot and even the sunset is at 9.00pm as it is summer in Oz, but suddenly it can drop to 10-15 C. However, I have to adjust everything to be able to survive here..

This week is also my first week in IAP (Introductory Academic Program) which is designed to prepare new students to be able to use facilities and services in Monash University, including IT services, library (information literacy) services and English language, before enrolling the actual course.

Everything is new and exciting for me. After all, I still miss and love my country much more than ever... These are lyrics that help me to cope with my days apart from my beloved family and friends, and may be useful for those who are in the same boat as me...

Hero(Mariah Carey)

There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way

  2. It seems that the Internet connections here is very fast... maybe becoz most of them are broad band connection, and generally cheap in price.. What's more, the library is very sophisticated. I don't think we will have these all wonderful things in Indonesia, in the short term. But hopefully, there will be a good facilities in the future... I'll inform you again later, I have to explore more about this beautiful city now
